On the 25th January 2011 ITILnews reported that the review of the ITIL core publications was currently in a second quality assurance phase, with the updated publications planned to be released in the second quarter of 2011.
Hot on the heels of the core publications, it has been announced on the 4th February 2011 that a formal review of the ITIL V3 Managing across the Lifecycle (MALC) capstone certification, had begun. A wide range of stakeholders are to be consulted, including:
- Accredited Training Organizations (ATOs)
- ITIL Trainers
- Examination Institutes (EIs)
- Students and their sponsors
- Users
- The ITIL v3 examination panel
- itSMF International
The stakeholder views will be gathered by using a combination of direct consultation and questionnaires.
The data gathered will be reviewed and analyzed by a Syllabus Advisory Board, who will make informed recommendations for improvements and changes to the syllabuses and other elements of the certification. The Board will comprise of representatives from:
- the itSMF International,
- the licensed Examination Institutes
- the ITIL version 3 Examination Panel
- a selection of Accredited Training Organizations
